System Integration
Sharing information between systems reduces data entry errors and eliminates the necessity for duplicate data entry. Thankfully, the current era of technology has made system integration much simpler and less risky.
In order to optimize the user experience and to gain the most advantage from data and transactions, EAM systems are often integrated to other corporate applications.
Common integration scenarios include:
SCADA/Historian/BAS: In most industries control systems are in place that collect equipment “telemetry” data in real time including equipment run time and usage information, equipment fault codes, and other relevant performance data. EAM can utilize this control system data to enhance preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
Financials/ERP: HxGN EAM usually needs to coexist with a financials and accounting system. Because EAM manages information about MRO supply chain activity, there are opportunities to automate information sharing between these two systems. Our goal in these integrations is to minimize the amount of straddling across the two systems and maximize the benefits that are gained through the full usage of EAM functionality.
GIS: For clients with large amounts of distributed assets such as public sector and oil and gas, there is tremendous potential for synchronizing asset information between the geo-spatial and asset management worlds. We work to ensure that field technicians are able to access relevant information in the field about the assets they are working on as well as providing context as to what work is going on nearby. This technology enhances workflow routing and efficiency during the course of the work day.
GPS: Used specifically for fleet management, GPS tracking systems collect vehicle usage, location, and operating statistics which impact maintenance schedules and operating performance. Integrating GPS into the HxGN EAM application enhances the ability to adhere to maintenance schedules, identify problems that may be occurring within the fleet, and extend the life of fleet assets.
